Strange week in Colorado for the library community.
joy // One flip of the coin allowed for a birth at the main branch of the Denver Public Library. Lots of feel-good-buzz around that event. It was fun thinking of this newborn getting a library card at 1-day-old.Made me smile.
sorrow // On the other side of the coin, two librarians from Connecticut had their lives cut short by an apparent out-of-control-totally-irresponsible crazed driver. What a terribly tragedy. They were on their way to the airport after attending the ALA Mid-winter conference in Denver. Sigh.
Is it too much to say it was a life and death week here?
